My mentor emailed me today to encourage me. I think it’s something that many of us often forget but need to remember:
“Yes, what we are going through now [on earth] is temporary but extremely important. It is the only preparation we will have prior to spending the rest of eternity in heaven. I accept that whatever experiences I have, whether good or bad, in my judgment, are essential for my soul to be prepared for what comes next.”
In connection to this one, I remembered a journal entry I wrote some time ago:
March 18, 2004 / 6:06 pm
Me: Lord, take me Home.
I don’t care if I don’t get to see my dreams come true. I’m so tired of all the struggles.
Just take me Home, please?
GOD: But My Child, if I take you Home now, you’ll miss out on all the wonderful things I’ve planned for you to experience on earth.
Me: I don’t care, Lord. Heaven is more wonderful than earth anyway.
GOD: Yes, it is true that Heaven is infinitely more wonderful than earth. But it is also true that what you experience on earth, you cannot experience in Heaven.
Your life on earth offers you an experience that is different in sense and degree.
Me: Really?
GOD: You sent a message to your friend today, telling her to savor each step she takes during her graduation march tomorrow. It is a day she can never go back again, so she must savor as many moments as she can.
Life on earth is life that, My Child.
While you long so much for Heaven,
Remember that once you leave earth, you can never go back.
You can never again experience the bitter sting of pain; the sweetness of learning and appreciating life in light of human pain and My grace.
While Heaven is your home,
Earth is your preparation for Heaven.
Just like school, graduation does not signify that life’s hard work is finally over.
The “real” work is just about to begin.
Would it surprise you if I tell you that your life on earth will actually expand the depths of your appreciation of Heaven?
Me: [Unable to respond. I’m astounded!]
Abba: [I can feel Him smiling.]
Do not be in a hurry.
The reason why I want you to stay longer on this world is because I AM preparing you for Home.
Trust in My timing. I know what I’M doing.
