Cut Some Slack

; the usual fair of the jeepney from where I came from which was Robinsons Place to my area in Lahug. I was on a jeepney ride one evening and paid 10.00 pesos to the jeepney driver's assistant, that dude we call kundoktor. He then told me that he was going to give my change a little later since he ran out of coins for my change of 2.00 pesos. Before the jeepney rid5370347340_2469aa9353_z-copye, I was trapped in a waiting shed with other people also waiting to catch a ride home. With a heavy down pour of rain, I felt paralyzed because I could not go anywhere and I just sat and watched the rain kept pouring. I had waved vehicles passing by, taxis, other jeepneys and even a bus but none of them even stopped. It was also frustrating that taxi drivers chose passengers at the time when they were needed, I almost gave them the "magic" finger, but thought to myself that even if I did it wouldn’t change a thing. I was beginning to think that I was going be there a long while until that yellow jeepney pulled over and felt that Hallelujah moment. 

It has been 10 minutes since I paid my fair to the kundoktor, and still no change came back to me. I tried to see if he already had change for me and to my surprise he already had a handful of coins. I was beginning to get infuriated by him not giving me my change back. I looked at him to ask for my change back but a thought came to me. After all the hours of waiting on that paralyzing  waiting shed, maybe it would do some good to cut him some slack and let him keep that small change as a little appreciation for getting me out of what I thought was a long day of waiting. So I just sat back, put a little smile on my face, just enjoyed that jeepney ride, and came home happy.

Cut some slack, maybe it would also cut some bitterness out of you too...
